Hi there,
well, my husband is turning 40 soon and I would like to do something special for the occasion. We never do anything apart from the usual stuff (my very basic baking skills and the very artistic creations of our kids are usually enough..), but this year, we might get some time alone as my parents will be staying with us at that time. So yeah, me might just go for a bite, but I would have liked something more exciting ! I thought we could leave the kids (4) with my parents for a night and head somewhere nice; Any idea ? (we will have our 4 months old baby with us, can't leave her behind..)
Cheers, Laura

I had same problem recently with SIL and her husband took us out for dinner, but didn't want go too far because we have left baby with MIL plus two preschoolers (poor MIL!!:eek: ) and it was his first time using a bottle :o but lucky he took bottle well. So we just went to next town's restaurant which will be too far for you.
BTW, PM'd you with suggestions....

How about "The Brickworks" on Centaurus Road, or the Gondola restaurant or even the Tram car restaurant :cheers

We don't live far from the Brickwork, just down the road along the river but we have never tried it. We tried "Jackflash" though, on the Colombo/ Dyers Pass roundabout, very good (they closed down since , opening of new place soon).
I was actually thinking of doing something more exciting than having a meal and I looked at the web link for Blokart (the one you tried , Ben) but I can't get hold of the guy who is hiring blokarts.
We have never done the Gondola because we like walking better..
But thanks for suggestions, I am sure I will eventually find something;
