miniture lemon, lime & orange trees?
Olive trees?
I have now discovered what I thought was just lime trees to be little lemon, lime & orange trees, but I have no idea if these are for show or to use & if so what season they are.
Also have olive trees & again I think they would have been planted for privacy but can I do anything with them?

We've got around 15 olive trees all drooping with fruit. This is the first year we'll be here for a harvest and we're not sure what to do with them ! !
Sounds like you've got what every other kiwi garden has with the lemon and orange trees, great for eating as well :)

Hi we have an orange tree, used to have a grapefruit but chopped it down as was laden with them and they go off so quickly.
The oranges were scrummy last year!
ALso found we have grapes growing and pomegranates ??

We've got the loveliest bunch of bananas. Really tiny but sadly not ripening, planted in a shady area for some reason.:( Also lemons, mandarins, hundreds of grapefruit, figs and one lonely little lime!

Sharon, Did you get anything fruit on your pomegranate? I fancy trying to grow these but wondered how successful they would be. How big is your plant?

Hello!.. we have a miniature lemon tree & a lime tree on our patio (which we purchased) .. and 125 olive trees that came with the house/land. most olive trees here are of the oil variety rather than the eating variety, so depends on what you have. Ours are the oil variety and last yr we made our own olive oil... just a word of warning though.. it takes ten kilos of olives to make 1 litre of oil. basically you pick the olives normally around June, (if they go black and wrinkly, its too late) and before really serious frosts kick in kills them off and then there's normally somewhere local which will press them for you (or at least there is round here). pressing isn't much, we worked out it cost us about the same as buying it in the supermarket, but hey it was true virgin olive oil and made by our own fair hands from our trees on our land. great for impressing the relatives back in the UK as christmas presents!
hope that helps!
btw - I got my olive training from Sir Richard Hadley's brother who lives next door to us! this didn't mean much to me, but I understand he seems to have a god like status here!

makes my lemon, lemonade, mandarin, feijoa, apple, olive, peach trees seem paltry in comparison to 125 olive trees :laugh
also got a young avocado growing, passion fruit, grapes, pumpkins, tomatoes, cucumber, broccoli, cabbage, potatoes, chillies.... no time to look after them properly but they are there and have provided us with loads of produce this year. Will be better organised next time round coz this stuff grows like wildfire :)

I have a couple of miniature lemon trees. The fruit is normal size and I am expecting the lemons to begin ripening over the next few weeks . The trees will fruit throughout winter and spring.
We also have olives. I tried to pickle the olives one year - but ended up with jars of festering olive stew. Quite a lot of work required for success in this area. I now leave em to the birds to enjoy.

Thanks for all your replies
Trouble is the fruit seems to have come & gone already, isn't it a bit early? The little oranges or whatever they are have ripened & split, which is how I realised they were oranges/clemantines as before when we moved in February they looked all green but now have split & turned orange

We've got the loveliest bunch of bananas.
There's a song in there somewhere, or is that a coconut ditty?
See, I've moved on from vegetables. Fickle thing I am....
