What sort of salary range can I expect as an electrical engineer? I have had engineering experience with one MNC engineering firm in Singapore for abt 3.5 years, which is recognised by nzis. (the rest of the experience are in sales and marketing which is not recognised).

So a salary of NZ$50-60k per year is realistic for a recognised electrical engineering experience of about 3.5 years?

The construction market is slowing down, job losses are likely.

In the big cities $25 -$30 per hr for 2000hrs per year is about right, so yes $50-$60k, plus over time if available.

In smaller towns, then $20 is more likely.

If you've HV experience or fancy inspecting new connections then try the power lines companies.

There is a huge shortage of qualified HV line mechanics if you want to consider a change and can find a trainee position with a lines company(possibly $20-$22 per hour in a city).
