I'm sure you'll get more answers later on. Don't forget that members of the forum who are already in NZ are the ones who will be best able to answer your question, and it's night-time for them at the moment.

thanks for that reply, I did know that it was night time.. my daughter is currently travelling around the South Island and we have been using skype for a while at funny times.. as a young adult she keeps completely different hours to us, and where she is in the world makes no difference, just us that needs to sleep at night!
I posted twice 'cos it was just I thought the work related thread might have been better.

OH and I both were 50 when we applied - we're here, no problem about age. And neither of us are rocket scientists. Teacher and retired Royal Navy with a wonky leg.

oops, to answer your question, yes there are lots of people here who have successfully made the move at your age, and there shouldn't be any problem finding work. Do all the spade work before you get here if you can though.
