If I'm working in NZ in my skilled field, but the job is temporary (4 months) and I am on a temp work visa, can I apply for skilled migration? Or do I need a job or job offer for a year?

I went on the NZ immigration site and its not clear about this. They state that one would need a full time job offer for a year, or have a job. If I have a job, will I have to prove that its for a year and its full time? Or is that just pertaining to the job offer?

Of course all the other requirements would be met for skilled migration and I would apply with 150 points.

I'm so confused! :confused: If anyone knows anything about this, I would greatly appreciate any input.:)

You can apply for a PR at any time, of course if you don't have enough points to be selected then it won't do you any good.

Do you have 150 points without the job, or is it with the job? If its without the job then you should apply now.

If it is only with a job then the job must be full time (at least 30 hours per week), if it was contract work then it must be at least 12 months. So a job for only 4 months wouldn't be suitable.

Yeah the points would be with the job, unfortunately....now I just need to find a more permanent job.
