i'm sure they're ok as an employer!

they seem to be doing very well plugging the carbon zero programme, and have some very interesting programmes out there. but the one my organisation along with another 20 funded went down hill fast due to landcares significant failures...happy to pm you more details if interested but id still go for a job with them as decent environmental related jobs dont come by every day!

Hi Andrewandjane and ers99w

Interested to see your posts on the Landcare institute- I suspect I applied for the same job (haven't heard anything).

I'm looking for environmental/conservation job in Auckland-we hope to arrive in early June and am wondering how the job market will be. I currently work for an NGO in the UK and have been doing research in things like biofuels, Carbon finances, Reduced Emission from Degradation and Deforestation. I'd love to get a similar post in NZ. Any advice?

I have come across this conference:

ECO Conference 2008 - Sustainable New Zealand – Rhetoric or Reality?

Think it would be worth me attending?

ers99w- are you in the UK or NZ already?

b.w

lots of opportunities, out here...

Auckland regional council have a few conservation vacancies (parks) at present type ARC into google.

the local councils (North shore, Manukau,Auckland City, Waitakere) always have jobs advertised too, lots of things like policy analysts (environmental) or climate change.
best bet is to try seek nz or trade me for jobs by typing in sustainability or environmental, theres also lots of consultantcy work dellloites have a climate change auditor post theyve been advertising for ages..

mfe have vacancies but not usually auckland way.

pm me email details and ill let you know if anything comes up with my employer...

good luck..

re conference always good from a networking point of view, especially if you can get a delegate list and take a load of cv's!
