Yes i know what you are all thinking "why is this person talking about bins" :eek Now there is a reason but unfortunately at this moment in time i am not about to divulge why. ;) To give you all a slight insight i am posting this for someone who is going to NZ soon but doesn't have access to the net.
Question is do NZ'ders use wheelie bins for their refuse?????? or is it a case of black bin liners.
Simple answers please

Simple answers:

Yes
is it a case of black bin liners
Yes
The answer is dependent on who collects your rubbish. Most people can choose between the local council and private contracters. :D

Yes we have a wheelie bin (Timaru area), but whilst down in Dunedin we had black bin liners. The bin liners are in the local supermarkets and cost more than you think as you have to pay a collection levy on them. You could hire a wheelie bin but don't know what price they were as I was only down there for 3 months.

Hi there,
I have done both in my short time here. Putting bags out does not look nice but a lot of people do it. BEWARE - if you put the wrong sort of bags out they will be left with a note attached !
I now pay to have a wheelie bin and a weekly collection. It cost about $160 per annum. I had my first bin pinched and had to report it to the police and fill out an insurance claim before the wheelie bin company would provide a replacement.
