Hi Everyone. If you recall I posted a few questions with regards to covering letters as I was losing hope with PR under my de facto relationship. I took advice and decided to get myself over to NZ House and ask the question directly about my options. The result was very encouraging and thought I'd share what I found.
Basically, even though my partner and I have been in a serious relationship for 5 years, as we are currently not living together (one in NZ and me in the UK!) and haven't been doing so for the last 12 months I discovered that I might have a problem. Anyway, the advice from NZIS was that I should apply anyway as my case could be considered to be slightly different to the norm. We should expect to be contacted for interviews etc and if all goes well we might get a decision in 2 months! I couldn't believe it, and am SO going to try!
It's changed my whole perspective on what could happen soon and just can't wait to see.
