Can anyone help?

I am trying to find out if anyone has any experience of paying GST on a container of household items. We will be shipping over our house contents on a two year student visa and as far as I can find out I think we will be charged GST.

Does anyone know how they work out how much GST is due?

Any recent experience of exta costs incurred due to entering on a short term visa would be extremely helpful.

There was a recent post on the GST payable. Do a quick search for it. It gave exclusions for when GST was not payable if someone came on a temporary visit of sorts.
