We are moving to NZ on 14th and have the option to rent in Burnside. Does anyone know anything about the area, primary and High schools, shops, leisure facilities - in fact anything at all.

We have 2 kids aged 6 and 17.

great area..go for it. But sign up for a periodic lease (they will cross one of two out on the front page..tell them you will be crossing the fixed one out) so that if you hate it you can leave after giving them 3 weeks notice, if they want to kick you out it is 3 mths notice.

Do a search for burnside on the forum and see what comes up..there are a few people live over there....or that way, Tanya etc.

Classed as a good area, near town and near the airport....riccarton mall is big and has everything you need and northlands mall is even bigger.

I think you will be fine..if you had said Linwood I would have said...DONT!
