I am right in thinking that our costs will roughly be as follows:
(2 adults & 2 children from the UK)
Medicals: £700
Police check: £100
EOI: £150
NZQA: £75
ITA fees: £685 - just heard about this one:(
Flights: £1300
Then some more for renting a house, buying car, insurance, general setting up.
Am I missing anything or have I got any figures wrong?:uhoh

Police certificates are now £35 per person (standard ACPO application) for anyone aged 17 or over, so I'm guessing that should be £70.

Hi Joz
I think you might find the EOI is more expensive, ours was lodged this month and cost us about £185
The biggy is the medicals from what others on the forums have said. Some poor people have paid IMHO extortianate prices for theirs. Well worth shopping around for them.
Hope your piggy bank is full :roll

Also the migrant levy - paid once you get your stickers. This is £115 per person up to a maximum of 4. Not sure if this includes kids or not.

That price for the flights sounds low, unless you've got a very good deal from somewhere. Sorry.

Thanks everyone,
Yep that flight is cheap. I've found several for around that price (non lower)most of them with Singapore Airlines, whilst looking over the last few weeks. I just this minute checked again and found one through Opodo, flying with Air New Zealand for £1373.20 for all of us (incl taxes and booking fees). It's from Heathrow to Christchurch in May, stops at Auckland for an hour for some reason?
I know of somebody that flew to the States for £6 once! Thanks to a late cancellation. But I don't think we'd ever be that lucky with kids in tow etc.

Police checks: £70
EOI: £185
NZQA: £75
ITA Fees: £685
Migrant Levy: £230 (or more if it does include kids)
Flights: £1300 (Assuming we can find one for that price when needed!)
And then all the other costs (rent, deposit, car, etc.)
Jeannie, our piggy bank is empty but where there's a will there's a way!
Well, assuming our EOI/ITA Officer agrees of course, aaarrhhgg:uhoh

That would be for a change of plane I'd imagine. Cracking deal on the flight still though :clap :clap

Yes - medicals cost anything from £250 tp £350 per person. Depends on where you go - then there may be other medical costs if you need extra tests.

There is also the migrant levy or have you already included this? That can be delayed a bit though if you struggling, up to 6 months.
It does come as a bit of a shock but you get "owt for nowt" as the saying goes. And I'd be wary of the flights cost, I think we paid 1800 over 12 months ago, and flights have gone up since then I think.

Thankyou, I've corrected my budget plan and will try to add a big contingency!
Steve, when you say be wary of those flights as they seem to be too low in price what do you mean exactly? That they may be bad flights or wrong, what?

What about removal costs? It cost us around £4000 I think for a full 20ft container.
And if I remember correctly, I think the whole process from start to finish cost £7000, 2 adults 2 children. That figure includes everything.

No removals necessary, just taking what we can carry.
