I believe I read that it was cheaper to apply for your PR if you are physically in NZ when you submit your application paperwork. Does anyone know how much of a savings? Is it any faster? Does it screw things up if you are currently working with someone in the UK as your Nzis representative?

Good excuse to go over to NZ if we can save a bit on the application. Of course, there is the airfare, lodging etc... but we won't think about that, will we... :angel!

Thanks,

W

We are kind of in the process of doing just that having come over on 3yer WP. I haven't been through the whole process, but submitting our EOI here in NZ online will cost us about NZ$1300 - for 2 adults, no kids. Do the sums - don't know if it will be cheaper for you outside NZ. Also, don't know if this is the only fee - haven't been through the process yet.

It is definitely cheaper if filed in NZ but not sure about the speed.

We filed ours in Chch and paid NZ$660 for the application. If we had filed it in Malaysia would have costed us NZ$1,360!

I believe it is quite a bit cheaper and if you're submitting in Auckland there are two offices and the one in Manakau is much faster. At least, this is what I've read.

Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but I think Terry Murphy told me that it cost $450USD per application. I'll check my notes and make sure. If I'm right then $660NZD costs more since it converts to $476USD.

I think its a per application fee not a per person fee. I would suppose that the process is faster if you are dealing with a local office. If you're American though, would you have to send your passport back to the US or could you go to the local embassy for the PR stamp?

I've probably just muddied the water...sorry. I'm trying to set up some interviews in Wellington so if it were cheaper to finish everthing up over there...hmmm, you're right CWW! It does sound like an excellent reason to get on over.

You might want to save up some more of your money, because the ITA costs 520 GBP = $1,000.06 US as of last check. Plus don't forget the 135 GBP migrant fee per applicant = $260 US.
