Hi-
My husband is a qualified(Nebosh general certificate) health and safety advisor, and is just completing the same certificate in construction safety, and is also studying for his diploma!! and is currently trying really hard to find a job in this field. Alot of the jobs he has seen advertised appear that you can only apply if you are a resident of nz, or alot of the replies he has had state that reason.
I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions and help they can offer?? any would really be greatly appreciated.
Many many thanks,

Claire

There's a need for good people in this field, especially if they can also cover the "E" Environment.

Often the combination of HSE and Quality (eg ISO9000) Advisor is sought by companies which are generally much smaller than UK enterprises so need to combine the role.

I suggest you look at the big companies such as On-track (rail), the power industry lines companies such as Vector or North Power (not the electricity retailers such as Contact Energy or Genesis).

Also try transfieldservices.com as they have numerous divisions operating in NZ in areas like roading, electricty and telecoms.

Regarding the right to work in NZ clause on adverts this is usually the agents who put this because of time wasters. If you search for the companies direct for adverts or push your CV, then it's likely you'll find someone looking.
