Hi All,

Can anyone tell me, after you have submitted the application for residence, does your online status change to reflect the fact that NZIS have received it? I'm talking about the completed ITA here. I know that it was delivered today, just want to know if they acknowledge receipt.

Thanks,

Mark. :P

Hi Mark,
We submitted our app on Monday 31st and on Thursday 3rd we received a letter confirming acceptance of our docs and a reciept for our £520.

The website does change to say Application Received but you cannot click on it and get any further information.

We are applying based on my age, exp, and quals with 105 points, our EOI was selected on the 1st Sept.

The letter (Neilw71 has had the same one) said that we would be allocated a case officer in the next month and that in 2 to 4 months a decision should be made.

I know that some have had a very quick decision but I am not sure what system they are using to decide who gets done first.

All the very best, please let us know if you get any more info.

Cheers
Paul

Hi All,

I just got a note from my case officer as I was confused at people saying they had been assigned a case officer after ITA when you already have one to process the EOI. I asked him if I would be assigned a new case officer, here is his reply:

"Your application will be processed by me. We have recently been through
all our applicants and used some temporary staff to send out ITA's to
clear our backlog. These people ITA's by our temps will go in to a
queue and will be assigned to case officer at random. People ITA's by
visa officer before this started will be dealt with by that visa
officer."

Hope that clarifies things for people who had the same concern.

Hmmm.......just got off the phone:

15 mins long
General chat to begin with - he sounded more nervous than me !
Stated that as it had got to interview stage they were happy with documents and evidence submitted with ITA

First questions were about finding work - gave usual replies about job agencies / the Herald and Seek. Then asked about what barriers there maybe to finding work. Also asked about my wife's palns for work as well.

Then went onto preparations for moving out there, in terms of finding housing etc - said that we had been on a research trip, liked Auckland and Howick in particular- mentioned looking at housing availability & prices on the internet. Also mentioned we would rent for 6 months first and that been in touch with agents as well about that.

Then he asked if I had ever moved abroad before - yes I had so I told him about that - he asked what were the biggest hurdles to that.

He said that was all fine and did I have any other subjects I wanted to cover! So I just added the amount of trips we had been there.

Finally I asked what were the timescales now - he said he'd give my file a final review and let me know if all was OK in next 2 or 3 days !

Easy really......do NOT worry about it if you do a bit of preparation!!

Here's hoping for a call on Friday to make the weekend an alcoholic one :P :P :cheers
