Hello everyone,
My stomach is doing somersaults...
I just checked our staus online for our EOI as it was a selection day yesterday- We've been selected!! :nice1
We put our EOI in last week 195 points with a job offer (which OH has already accepted)
Im not sure whether to laugh or cry I've read so many differing stories on here, some easy with no worries, and others that are real horror stories.
Oh well, just have to wait and see eh?
I know its probably already been asked, but what should we expect to happen now apart from waiting for the nerves to fray and the mind to blow from the paperwork?
Cheers,
H

Congratulations both of you. :raebanana :raebanana
Tiptop, if you haven't already, then start collecting paperwork for the ITA (there are lots of good threads on here about what is needed). You will be fast tracked with a job offer. They also seem to be in a rush at the moment as well.
Police checks take up to 40 days and are valid for 6 months, so do these now. Medicals can be booked within 1-2 weeks if you can travel near you. Any NZQA paperwork may take a while as well.
Good luck.

hello, congratulations and good luck!
as rusty says the next step is getting your ITA papaerwork back along with a list of documents you will need to supply (these will include job details from your OHs new employer as you have a job offer)

You will receive a letter from Immigration confirming you've been selected in a week or so (I've kept mine :o ). As others have said, use this time to collate all your qualification certificates, birth certificates (long form, not short ;) , references etc etc together and practice pacing :D
I'd hold off actually getting police references and medicals at this point. My bro was selected and then deselected 2 days later after qualification requirements were changed so perhaps wait for the letter before booking anything you need to pay for....
Good luck.

Thanks for all that info guys! and especially for the :raebanana I feel really honoured!! Wait until I tell our little boy we got bananas, he'll be well chuffed - he stands in our sitting room pretending he is one of them, so funny!!:laugh
Just a quickie - OH qualifications are on the NZ immigration recognised list as they are for a trade (he's a qualified electrician and linesman on the overhead electricity lines) do we still have to get hold of NZQA?
Again thanks for your support and kind words, oh, and Andrew and Sue - let me give you these:raebanana :raebanana

can't say for definite on that - the letter will have your assigned CO details and the ITA documentation should say whether you need NZQA though, but if its on the list and you have all the paperwork you may be lucky :)

congrats. Keep appendages inside the car at all times. Do not get out of your seat until the ride has come to a complete stop.
Have fun!
