Does having a job offer with a start date speed up the immigration process at all?

My Wife has an offer with an anticipated start date of June this year, our EOI is selected, just waiting for the ITA to arrive..

My OH had a start date last week and we submitted our ITA on 12th March and apart from medical dates changing last week we have heard nothing. :wah
Fortunately work in NZ is philosophical.

We asked for an update the other day and our CO said it's in process!!!
So in answer - It doesn't appear to make things quicker I'm afraid. :no
I guess London is very busy with UK applicants.

We had initially been hoping to fly out next week - ho hum stressed, comfort eating, not sleeping - at least thats a normal response then :roll

It does make it quicker - the expected time is about 1-3 moinths comapred to (I beleive) 3-6 months without a job offer, it's just when you're waiting it seems to take forever ;)

use your time to make sure you have as manay of the documents you will need prepared!

Our EOI was submitted with job offer so you can see the time is was turned around below and I believe others have updated NZIS when they have had job offers in and they have been "fast-tracked" :yes I think NZ employers are reasonable in waiting, in our case OH was supposed to start in November 2007 and it wasn't really NZIS that held us up but the house sale :(

I don't think you can guarantee everything gets sorted by start date but certainly will not hurt to tell NZIS and get your prospective employer on to them too :)

Best of luck
