Hi

We are a SA family and considering applying for EIO. We have 130 points (according to the quick check on NZ immigrtation website) without a job offer. My husband is a tradesman and his trade is only on the immediate shortages list and not long term. How would this affect our application? What are our chances of been invited to apply with only 130 points?

Hello.

130 is a pretty healthy score without a job offer, definitely worth investiagting your options.

I'm not sure how the difference between the two shortage lists works, but I think it's fair to say if the role is on either of the lists then they are looking for people with experience in those areas, which can only be in your favour :)

Hi Werner,

I have just been selected with 130 points and no job offer, and this was the first selection since I submitted (ie I didn't stay in the pool for a while). I say, if you are seriously looking at NZ and can afford the money now, do your EOI. Since you have a couple of months after you've been selected before you get your ITA, you'll have plenty of time to get all your documents together.

Good luck!

More agreement here - 130 is a pretty good score without a job offer.
Good luck

Great Werner - good luck with the paper work - am sure 130 points is great - get going with the anabridge birth certificates - as we all know the Home Affairs arent the best - that takes 10 weeks if you needing to get them.
Well worth pursuing the move - its an expense but we feel having only been here a month - its all money well spent.

Good luck with the whole thing - let me know if you need any advise - we left Mpumalanga a month ago and so everything is till quite fresh in our minds on what had to be done.
