Hi again! Mrs Granite here!

We were selected from the pool on 12 March so should (hopefully) have our LOI by the end of this month... :raebanana

Ideally, we'd like to get Mr Granite an Environmental Monitoring job somewhere near Christchurch, as that is what he does here..... We'd prefer Christchurch but will go anywhere to start with, as long as he's doing a similar job. He loves his job here, and we wont make the move until he secures something in NZ first. Hopefully this will be a lot easier when we gain our PR, and we are going thru the motions 'as if' we will be heading over by the end of October...

It doesn't look like there are a great many air and water monitoring positions in NZ... :no

Can anyone help/advise on anything similar please?

Mr G has registered with a few specialist agencies but, of course, until we get PR, they are not in a position to help........ that old chicken-and-egg thing again...

I guess we just have to keep plugging away.....

Although I am the primary application on the EOI, I am not so stressed as I can work anywhere in any industry: PA - Office Manager - Bookkeeper - Technical assistant.....

Cheers for your support folks....

PS: This forum has been a great help (I'm a list person who cant sleep if I am stressing about stuff to remember in this great adventure... Mr Granite, on the other hand, looks at the lists I have created, and stresses - cos there's so much to get done before we go!!!)

try looking direct on regional council jobs pages as theyre usually responsible for env monitoring such as air quality, or emissions.

if its water quality then the local councils may have something.

good luck

Just in case it may help below is a link of all the council websites in NZ.

Regional Councils have a stronger focus on Environmental work, though City & District Councils also have Environmental related jobs.

Hi

My wife is M Tech in Eng Engineering and has research experience with IIT Delhi, India and teaching experience with Delhi University. She wants to do a part time job and also pursue her PhD. Pl advise a few good employers in Auckland and Wellington.

We got the WTR invitation & Work Visa Form a week back and submitted my application this week. Advised by the Customised Service Officer that the decision should not take more than 5 days. :raebanana

Cheers
