After 5 long years, we have finally received an email today stating that "our application for residency has been successful"

We will arrive in Christchurch at the end of May!!

Just to explain abot the 5 years. We first applied 5 years and got WTR offer (never actually got the visas) but a few days after accepting an offer on our house, my wife discovered a lump. Turned out to be thyroid cancer.
18 months later, we submitted medical stuff for an opinion as to if we would get in or not should we re-apply. They said probably so we sent a new eoi in May last year and then yestreday we got the email!!!

Great news for us to hear, there are 3 of us, Me, My wife and our 9 year old son!
