Hello, My Husband and I are thinking of moving to Hawkes Bay and are coming out in June for a recce visit.

Can anyone recommend any good pubs and advise on the nightlife in Napier. Thanks :

Hi...Napier isn't really the place to come for lots of nightlife...most people to go Ahuriri which is the port about 10 minutes away from napier and has bars all along. Nice food down there and you can have a dance aswell.

There are bars in Napier...along the Marine Parade...but I think most locals prefer the port of Ahuriri. We went there New Year and it was a good night.

We can't afford a visit really, but I've been b4 about 10 years ago and we have had lots of good descriptions/stories etc from people we trust over here and there! If the worst comes to the worst, and we hate it, then we'll move somewhere else!!!:nice1

we recently discovered the lack of nightlife in Napier. 10 o'clock on a Saturday night and there were basically tumbleweeds blowing down the mainstreet. It was very refreshing to have last weekend in Wellington, which is the opposite end of the spectrum entirely.

Definitely head to Ahuriri; if there is anyone out and about, they'll be there.
