We have just booked our holiday home for when we first arrive and they need a weeks rent in advance. What is the best way of sending this to them? They have given me their address and bank details.

Do they take credit cards if they do then send them the details in 3 mails split the details. Tell them thats what your doing before doing it. That way it is not total info flying through the airways.
If they dont then you will need to go to your bank and do a bank transfer make sure that the form they complete is in NZ$ we did it last year and they sent £750 instead of $750 and we didnt know about it until the people in NZ sent us a mail telling us as it didnt show in our account immediately. Most banks charge and its not cheap ours was £30 a transaction with Lloyds Bank
Have done both and it was the people in NZ who suggested the three mail scenario. I also made a call to give details to one of our holiday let landlords. All worked well in the end.
Hope this helps. :cheers

I found myself in this situation too. In the end I arranged with a friend already in NZ to transfer the money from their NZ bank acct to the holiday owner's NZ bank acct and I paid the equivalent money into the friend's account in the UK. Do you have a friend who could do this for you here?

I only have people I know through the forum in NZ so I don't think that is an option. I will ask the landlord if they accept credit cards - if they do then I will probably call them with the details. If not then it looks like £30 via the bank. Thanks all.
