Hi there

Yep you shouldn't have a problem. Is he a resident or citizen.

Diny is married to a Kiwi and therefore applied as her husband is a NZ citizen.

try this website

That might have the answers you are loking for.

Best of luck

Hi there.

My Kiwi hubby sponsored us for NZ PR. Our boys are in the process of getting dual citizenship but we have to wait until we actually arrive to finalise that.

I'm not sure whether your hubby would actually be able to sponsor you as I'm pretty sure that he would have to be either an NZ citizen (hold an NZ passport) or have been a PR for the last 5 years. However, I'm feeling abit doubtful as I write that last bit so I strongly recommend you check with the NZIS at the web address that Jo has given.

However, if your hubby already has PR status, then I would imagine you would have to apply stating him as the principle applicant. Although I'm certainly not qualified to make such statements, my gut feeling is that you wouldn't face too many hurdles. Be prepared for the long haul paperwork though. If you can manage to telephone the NZIS you'll find that they're very helpful and will be able to tell you the exact route you need to take.

Just as some kind of indication. From day 1 to completion my PR took exactly 3 months.

I hope this helps in some way and please feel free to PM me if you need to chat about anything else. I'm no expert but I'm happy to share what info I do have.

All the best - hang in there.

Diny
