Hi everyone,

My name is Jurgen and I am in the middle of making a decision of moving over to New Zealand together with my family. I am intending to do this by applying for the Skilled Migrant Catagory. However before making any further decisions I am looking into the necessity of using a job search agent to provide me with a job offer and a legal immigration expect for the whole visa deal.

But.....I got suprised by the costs involved. Perhaps any of you could give me a little input on what is the best way to receive a job offer and whether it is advisable to use the services of an "immigration expert". Which path did you follow???

I am all ears...

Thank so far

Regards,

Jurgen

Hey Jurgen

I think a lot depends on how straight forward the process will be for you. I would suggest doing some research (this forum is a good source of information, so you're on the right path already) and working out if you can get through the process without paying an agent - some people find them useful but a lot of people mange quite happily without.

Hi Jurgen and welcome to the forum. :nice1

I’d follow Dusks advice most people don’t use agents but do the process themselves. If you do get stuck or have a query you will often find that someone else has posted the same question here before. And if you can’t find the answer to what your looking on here you can either post a question here and someone 99 times out of 100 will know the answer or at least point you in the right direction or email NZ Immigration.

And the money saved is better in your pocket than an agents !

Best of luck with your plans.

Hello Jurgen
welcome to the forum
General feeling is do it your self. If you have a query or are puzzled over something then ask here because as others have said people here can usually answer.
You are only likely to benefit from 'experts' if your application is really complicated and not straightforward at all
hope that is helpful

Welkom to this fab' forum, Jurgen!
I agree with the others, if you have the time to do your research and your particular application is not too complicated then it is best to keep the communication lines to INZ as short a spossible and keep your savings for other things.
Good luck - go ahead and ask!

Hi Jurgen, I echo what others have said. The process is quite straight forward for most people and if youhave a problem there is normally someone on here who can help. As for getting a job - what line of work are you in? As some can be got before you aerrive in NZ others not so much.
