First, I haven't been around much due to unreliable internet access, but I should be online more regularly now.
What is the GST equivalent in NZ? What's the rate?
Is GST already included in the price listed on items? If an item is $2.49 on the shelf, is it $2.49 at the register?
As an Aussie, do I need an NZ tax file number?
Cheers!

Hi
GST is 12.5% & so far everything I have bought has already had it added, I'm sure someone will correct me otherwise

Yes it is :yes
The only times I've had to add on GST is when planning/budgeting for work to be done on the house/car etc.... it is usually quoted without GST and added on at the end.... worth bearing this in mind as it can be quite a shock if you're on a tight budget.

Ouch, 12.5%. Thanks; it's a pain to have the tax added at the register, especially when you're not sure you have enough cash on you.
Cheers!

Ah, ok. I'll keep that in mind, thanks. Yeah, that could be a nasty shock!
