Hi

Could anyone tell me some info on Gisborne,
I have looked on most of the threads and like what I have read, I just have not read anything with regards schooling, and after high school the colleges that children may go to.

My Oh is looking at working in Gisborne and this is where we will settle.
Fingers crossed.

Any INFO would be of great help.

Thanks Tim and Michelle

Congratulations for heading off the beaten track ! Gisborne is a lovely friendly little city.

Some Gisborne parents send their children to boarding school in Hawkes Bay. Otherwise your best option would be the boys/girls high school.
Have you read the ERO report for these schools ?

Probably the only disadvantage to moving to Gisborne would be the lack of school choice, however I have friends who went to the local boys/girls schools and they are all very successful professionals.

Have just re-read your question... am afraid Im not too sure what the options are AFTER high school. Gisborne is a small place and I m not even sure if it has any tertiary institute - it certainly didn't 20 years ago !

Buy the kids surf boards and they'll be fine !
