I have read some posts that mention that if you don't have a job offer, the NZIS may want to interview you. I will hopefully getb through the next EOI selection without a job offer, can anyone expand on what exactly they are looking to prove with the interview, I am just interested to know as I will probably end up getting interviewed.
Thanks

Hi Nick,
They want to find out how likely you are to integrate into NZ life and contribute to society. If there is any question they may issue a work visa for 2 years instead of PR. At first I thought that no job = work permit, but now I think if you can demonstrate that you are serious and can convince them that you will work etc. PR is still possible. :hopeso
If you get the work permit it becomes PR after you have worked in your field for 3+ months.
At the moment I think it is too early to get feedback from people who've already had an interview, might be wrong here though. I will be taking all the evidence I can with me to any interview (assuming I get one), including evidence of NZ job interview, feedback from recruitment consultants, jobs I have applied for etc.
Good luck!!
Mark. :D
