Hi all,
thanks for all the bananas and good wishes, ther are much appreciated!

Having never been to NZ, can anyone suggest any nice places to live within 30 minutes commute to the CDB?

We are wanting somewhere nice outside Christchurch with a good primary school for our 9 year old son, which is our main concern, that is commutable to the Womens hospital.

Any suggestions much appreciated

Cheers
Nick

Best of luck. Can't help with your question as we live in Christchurch city. There are lots of forum members though who do live outside the city, I am sure they will start posting soon.

I live just 31km south of christchurch, Ellesmere, a farming "hamlet" near Springston/Lincoln, there are very good schools plus Lincoln High and towns around us, Springston, Lincoln, Tai tapu, Rolleston, Leeston etc.
Took my OH about 20-30min to get to Brimingham Drive in christchurch.
Also having been to Chch hospital (next door to women's) lots lately :o and will be going to hospital next wednesday :o and next month :o the trip to hospital take me about 30-45mins depend on traffic.

Best you get here and try get the feel of places all over canterbury as well as get feel of travelling distances. Took us 6 months (most weekends) before we found the place we want to live.
