Hey everyone

I signed up and tried a quote with emirates as they have a partnership with them. They say you get an extra 50kg of baggage! which would be awesome! If they didn't charge you an extra grand by using the promo code!

so no good for me as i am not paying 2400 for a ticket!

anyone else have any luck?

We were 57KGS OVER!!! Got away with it in the end as Singapore gave us extra baggage allowance coz we emigrating (but not that much lol)

lol that was very nice of them! The small print says i need evidence ill be there for over a year! going on a work visa so would this be ok?

might be easier to go Air NZ via LA and use the 2x bags at 23kg each allowance (not dependent on anything else like your visa) if you know you're definitely going to need it.

a couple of other airlines do the extra allowance for emigrants but can be a bit funny about it depending who you get to talk to!

So how much extra baggage would £1000 buy you - 25% of a container load? Or how much would 50Kg extra baggage cost you? It's just a question of mathematics.
