Don't know if anyone will care about this but thought I would pass in on in any case for those from North America. I have been looking for both of the above items and had seen root beer (and dr. pepper for that matter) on trade me but by the case only. Had not found graham crackers here. But we just found both at Davis Trading Company in Petone. They also have locations in Auckland and Palmerston North. The root beer is A&W from Malaysia (tastes fine) and the graham cracker called "whole wheat grahams" from the Philippines and are about 95% of what I think of as a graham cracker. The kids love them. They have pinto beans and lots of good things from asia including a nice chili garlic sauce. Very good prices on sauces and Asian seasonings as well as some deals on Italian foods.

Isn't root beer what Brits call 'Dandelion and Burdock'? Or did I just dream that?

Sorry, but I once tried root beer, because I'd seen it mentioned in American novels, and decided it tasted like drinking Germolene would!
I've just looked up root beer AND dandelion and burdock (which I don't like, either), and the references say both of them are traditionally flavoured with or similar to sassafras, so it looks as if you're on the right track, CJ.

Oh no worries about not liking it. Heck I hate coffee and most people think I'm crazy because of that (which I'm not, I'm crazy for other reasons entirely)!

Good to know, thanks for the advice Chris! I'm wholly addicted to root beer and this is just one less thing to worry about being deprived of now :)

Not even remotely similar....root beer tastes like germoline :uhoh
If you had never smelt germoline then it is probably a nice drink, but i personally have never been able to disasociate the smell/taste thing :no

Glad I'm not the only one with the Germolene association (see above)!

Bundaberg make root beer which you can pick up at our dairy so it should be available.
I love root beer, but most people I know think it tastes like drinking cough syrup (which would be fine with me as I like cough syrup too!).
