Well after a year backwards and forwards from UK to NZ we are now all here and the family is reunited.
We decided that we would stay overnight in a hotel at Heathrow and get the shuttle in to save a very early morning.
This worked very well and I can thoroughly reccomend the Premier Inn Hotel at Heathrow.
We had a nice suprise at Heathrow. It was very quiet, only took ten minutes in the security queue and then the icing on the cake was an unexpected flight on the new A380 Airbus with Air Singapore. What a fantastic piece of engineering it is.It was the best take off and landing we had ever experienced with 12 inch screens on all seats and plenty of leg room.
The following day (Sun morning) We collected the cats from the cargo facility at Auckland. The flight from LA was 1 hour late so we were hanging around a bit. One word of warning to those who are picking up pets at Auckland. After you have been to Maf( Which is next to the cargo facility in the same building) You have to go to the Customs office which is in the main airport. The best thing to do is walk. It is about a 10 minutes walk but worth it as you would have to pay parking at the terminal wheras the cargo bays are free parking.
When we were eventually reunited with our beloved cats they were so pleased to see us that they were trying to get out of their cage.
Anyway we got them home and they have now fully relaxed and have settled in nicely. If you recall, 3 weeks ago, one of our cats was missing for 2 weeks locked in someones shed.
We can now really start to enjoy our life in NZ and very soon I will be able to provide photos of our house build.
