Hi folks,

I'm just about to send/submit my ITA and I was just wondering what people put on their covering letters?

I've basically put my CO's extension letter on top with an ITA document list, and then all the paperwork in order as they've asked and with photocopies...

I know its only a small detail, but what do you think?

Thanks.

We used our letter to itemise the documents we had included in each section, ie proof of partenership = marriage certs, mortage payments etc.
good luck

I'm in a bit of a rush so can't find them at the moment, but there are 2 or 3 threads if you use the search function and type' ITA letter'. I used these as there are examples of letters. If I have more time later I will look again, but you should be able to find them quick enough.

I just wrote a very short letter that had our EOI reference number prominently marked *shrug* didn't bother itemising anything :)

Here you go.
There is another one somewhere, but this is a good guide.
It is simply to show what is included and a chance for you to sell yourself a bit.

can't say I felt the need to sell myself at that stage... :)

Great, thanks Rusty for that. I was only going to add a list of documents but I'll try and put something together.
Thank you.

You don't need to sell yourself. It's a process not a job interview. Indeed, they probably try very hard to elliminate 'personal bias' effects from the process.

Rusty

I used the covering letter shown in this thread and had no problem.

Yes, I believe that many others have used it too. We used a similar format.

Having said that, I also think (on reflection) that Dusk and CJ22 have a good point.

It's 3 years ago now (my God, time flies) since we handed in our ITA at the London office and I remember the officer there telling us that once a person gets to the ITA stage, providing that all their paperwork/health/police checks etc is satisfactory and confirms the claims made on the EOI that it's pretty much a foregone conclusion.

I'm sure that the covering letter meant returning the "covering letter" which was sent out with the ETA, the one with the Case Officer name on etc, then again I could be wrong.
