Hope timescales have shortened for approvals, don't think wife is going to be happy waiting 6 months
The moving process has started, no turning back now :D
Oops, apologies... should have posted this in 'Working in New Zealand' section :)

You mean you have just sent off the NZNC documents?
If so, you could be in for a 3-4 month wait
Or do you mean you have posted off the NZNC approval to the NZIS???
If so, I would love to know how long the NZIS take once they get everything..

... yep, OH is at the first stage of registration hence preparing herself for a 6 month wait (based on recent timescales)
Having said that, we'll take a 3 month wait for an approval at this stage :D

Sounds like you are really organized...Good luck, hopefully you won't have to wait too long to hear back from NZNC.
Cheers,
Suzanne.

... thanks Suzanne, the agency OH has signed up with (Tonix) has said don't submit EOI until OH has an allocation number from NZNC and an offer of employment (hopefully Christchurch)... so tempting to get EOI submitted now, but guess there's a procedure to follow if you wish to get anywhere :roll

We have done it the other way round, got job offer, submitted EOI whilst sorting out documents for NZNC, sent that off a month ago, along with EOI, EOI now successful and we have the ITA paperwork waiting for the NZNC registration number & documents.....

Fingers crossed they get everything and it goes smoothly. Have you applied to Chch Hospital yet? They are recruiting like mad at the moment. I start there in October.

baz... OH may well end up doing matters the same way you did (based on comment below)... good luck with everything.
nickydwuk... we've emailed Tonix to advise that our 'recce' trip was a success and things are all systems go. They're chasing up Christchurch Hospital for a possible renal vacancy... we'll see what develops (fingers crossed).
