No first hand knowledge, but Waikato Uni is supposed to be one of the best, certainly one of the biggest, Uni's in NZ.
I know a few who have done IT related studies there and they seem more than happy with the establishment in general.

Hi Al
We have registerd our son to do Mech Eng - we went to their Open Day on Friday and thought it great. Professors all so friendly and explained they have small classes etc - but we were very impressed. Have heard very good reports about their Financial Degrees - sure you willl be fine.

The Post-Graduate programmes at Waikato Management School have one of the best in NZ for their research, their computer science programmes are also one of the better faculties in NZ.
So academically you are unlikely to regret your choice, the only possible limitation is finding a sponsor etc for the Management/Finance specialty you plan to study.
Work-wise a post graduate would have a stronger chance of finding a job than an undergrad, though your networks and area of specialty would also be an important factor.
What programme and/or major are you planning to study at Waikato?

Many thanks Shawn for your good reference about WU,
The primary reason to go to WU is to also explore social environment in NZ prior to make a crucial decison to settle down there. In fact, I have a Master degree in Public Administartion from Harvard University, in USA and consider to get additional degree in Finance (with major either in Public Finance or Corporate Finance).
Are you from Hamilton?
all the best,
Al/

With a background in Public Administration you may wish to consider Victoria University of Wellington, as Wellington is where most of our Public Sector is based. Though I would expect Waikato University can also provide a few options that would appeal.
There is a possible risk that having more than one Master degree may give prospective employers an impression of being overqualified for the NZ job market, though this depends a little on the type of industry you plan to work (post graduation).
I am originally from Hamilton though have spent most of the last 10 years living in Auckland & Wellington

Perhaps you are rigit re: Wellington and Auckland. I build my strategy to explore job market while I am in NZ. I understand Hamilton is not too far from Auckland. Is not it? I also interested in lecturung/ conducting research at University.
What is important for me is to be surrounded by intellectual cosmopolitan environment, law -respected society and clean ecology and to stay far from world politics. Thanks god I did not cultivate expensive habits so far. I am leaving my oil-spoiled completely hopelessly corrupted Azerbaijan for better environment and very much prepared to get absorbed by new culture. I very much hope NZ is right destination for me.. I believe I have more things to give to NZ than expect to take from it.
Many thanks for supporting our communication and I would be delighted if you have any other suggestions concerning to settle down in Hamilton and Waikato.
kind regards,
Al.
