Some of those who have been here a few years may know already, but thought i would let those who are fairly new know -
Just been able to claim a rebate for the tax year -
1/3rd of all school donations paid
As i have paid over $940 in child care (actually calculated over $2688 in a year - quite scary) - been able to claim $330 back (every thing helps)
You need to fill out a form available on the IRD website, an IR527 i recall. Says to allow 6 weeks - back with me in just 2. You have to be able to provide receipts for everything you claim.
Worth a try, as i said, every little bit helps!
