First time on the Forum. I am an electrican and hoping to move to Nelson. Waiting for ITA  Is there any other sparkies out there?? I am 34 and my fiance and I have two children. Getting frustrated already about the waiting times for forms and responses etc. Does anyone know how long I will have to wait to hear about my ITA - I was selected on 9th April.

Thanks :o

Hi and welcome from some Ex-Cornwallians!
We had to wait 6 weeks for the ITA (that was with job offer in a skills shortage area)- it seemed ages at the time. We tried to distract ourselves by getting everything ready for the ITA and for the move.
Good luck.

Hi there and a big welcome :yes

I am a Sparkies Wife if that counts. Look at our time line and that may help with dates etc. I know the waiting seems endless. Just get all the hard copies ready to be sent to NZ house. Any questions? Will do our best to help.
Good luck :nice1

Hi and welcome. Ex-Somerset (with 4 years in Exeter) here. Not a clue about electrickery (Leccy Lee's dept) but can safely say that as far as forms are concerned I am convinced that we are all part of a scientific experiment on NZIS's part to a) see how far blood pressure can rise and b) how quickly they can make us lose our marbles. Forms and response times are notoriously unpredictable. Hang on in there until we tell you to panic. Good luck:nice1

Hi Natalie

Wives of sparkies definately count!!! Just a quickie did your husband Paul have a job offer? If not was it easy to find work? We are trying to decide whether it would be best if Mark actively sought work - but we are not sure how to go about it or whether it is just best to wait until we are settled.

Thanks for replying. Great to hear that you have achieved your goal.

Oh one other thing, did your husband complete a C & Guilds Part Two certificate and was this recognised without going through the NZQA?

How are the schools for your two children, we have a 16 and 9 year old!

Thanks again.

Mark and Kerry

Hello again. Just a quicky. what is the best way to find work from the UK. Is it best to ring the companies direct? or are there any agencies or newpapers that are helpful (on line)? There is a bit of a discrepency about C & G qualification. Does the Part Two need three components if you completed it back in 1993?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum Mark and Kerry :nice1

Not sure what is going on with messages can you help. Am I supposed to use the quote button to reply to you or do a quick message which is the best way for you to find any replies????:( Is there anywhere on the site you can view responses just to you or do you have to look through the thread??

Any help with this will be appreciated!

Thanks.

Now you have done more than five postings, you can use the Private Message facility if you want to communicate privately with anyone. Just click on their name over a posting, and a drop-down box will appear, and PM is one of the things on offer.

Hi Mark and Kerry, welcome to the forum -
just down the road from you:nice1 !!!!

You may get some answers direct on the thread, and like JandM above, the pm works after you've done 5 posts.
The search facility on the forum is really useful if you want to seek out any specific info

Wishing you all the best and the waiting is the worst part...trust me!!

Hi Janey

Have you had a pre-assessment from the NZQA - what area of work are you in?? We are awaiting the ITA before we go for the full assessment. The cost  Have you had your ITA already, if so how long did it take from your EOI being selected? I hope you are making the most of the weather! its beautiful down this way. Could be anywhere in the world!!! If only I could get away from checking my status!!!:laugh
