Hey everybody, how are things?

Anyways, I'm big into lacrosse, and it's growth is booming here in the states. But I was wondering if it is at all common in NZ? I mean, how hard would it be to find a local club?

I know there is a NZ Lacrosse association (or something like that), and I saw a video of NZ versus Nederlands (The Haka wasn't too great...). So that just got me to wondering about it; because of all things, I want to be able to play some Lacrosse over there!

So really I guess I'm asking if it would be hard to find a local club?

(What a confusing essay! :( I'm sorry!)

I'm in auckland and was quite surprised to see boys practicing lacrosse in the Orakei Domain. As its Canada's official sport ( yes I know its really hockey, but officially its lacrosse, started by the First Nations living in Eastern Canada) I was a bit interested. Turns out they are associated with the Teachers Eastern Rugby Club and practice each Thursday. I think you can find out more on Teachers Eastern website. if you contact someone through there, I am sure you will find someone knowledgeable enought to answer your questions.

I don't know anything about Lacrosse, but I am curious if you are from Maryland or Virginia? My friends from there always tell me Lacrosse is great, but I have never seen it anywhere else in the US (maybe once in St. Louis, MO). Even the NCAA Lacrosse championships (which I watched) were all mid-Atlantic and some Northeastern schools.

Aha! One of my work colleagues plays lacrosse for NZ - I mentioned to him that I used to play (at junior international and county and university levels all of which was DECADES ago!) and he suggested I get involved. I haven't yet (far too busy with work!) but here's the link: http://www.nzlacrosse.com/
Hope you find what you're looking for...it's such a cool game!
