Hi everyone,

We are hoping to apply for a working holiday soon and then move over to NZ in late October - does anyone know that if we applied for a working holiday visa now, would the 23 month period start now or once we arrive in NZ?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Tony

From the NZIS website:

A work visa issued under a Working Holiday Scheme is valid for 12 months. This means that you will have 12 months from the date your application is approved to arrive in New Zealand.

Thanks, we are going to apply for the 23 month Working Holiday, I was wondering would the 23 months start once we were in NZ or would it start from the date the application was approved?

Thanks

Hi,

My WHV was approved yesterday.

You have 12 months to activate the visa, and it becomes activated once you arrive at NZ's airport under the WHV scheme for the 1st time (and deal with customs). So, yes the 23 months start once you're in NZ.

All the best with the move. :cheers
