Does anyone know of the best way of finding jobs in this area? Are newspapers worth searching or is there a job centre locally? If not has anyone out there got any contacts? Looking to move to Nelson before Christmas.

Would appreciate any advice or information or contacts.:nice1

Mark, I tell everyone this, register yourself on Seek jobs, you can put your areas in and what you looking for - will probably help.

If you looking for a local thing, can't help as I not down there, but sure there will be some info from those who do live there regards papers etc.

Yup, seek.co.nz is incredibly comprehensive.

Definitely Seek but also try on Trademe. I would also research electrical contractors using yellow pages - there are loads in there and try contacting them directly. There is a local paper - The Nelson Mail but I don't think they publish their jobs online. Jobs are in mainly on a Wednesday and Saturday. A couple of agencies which may be able to help are Advanced Personnel and Coverstaff (from a quick flick through yellow pages) who seem to deal with building/construction type people.

My recruitment agent was from Nelson and he returns every now and then. He seems to be quite in touch with the Nelson community, even suggesting possible jobs should I be interested in a move to Nelson (which I've briefly mentioned to him before that I might consider a move to Nelson). Might be worth a try.
