Anyone with any experience of these?

Wife and i are desperate to move to nz, but not that confident that we have the criteria, we arent useless, we have good equity in property and have good jobs, just not all that big on qualifications, and our jobs are in estate agency and recruitment which i didnt think were high on nz's shortage list, i have basic city and guilds electrical qualifications but only part one so in no way a qualified electrican.

But after doing a quick check assesment on their website, they emailed me today to say that they think i have a chance of gaining entry and asked me to full out their full questionaire, which costs £100.

Do they just tell everyone that they could get in just to get the dough in?

I'd do some research on this forum before parting with £100 for a questionairre ;)

also you can check your points score for free on the NZIS website.

i have done a bit, just get conflicting reports, also if a professional is saying they can get you in, you sort of believe them

they can't 'get you in' unless you pass the criteria to get in, I'm afraid :)

all they can do is assess your point score (which you can do yourself)
tell you what documents you will need to get hold of (which you can fin dout from various sources, most notably here!)
and give you advice on job hunting/ergistration for your profession etc.

they don't have a magic wand and YOU will still need to fill the forms in, source the documents, pay the fees, get your medical done....

Hi Walshy

I am with Dusk on this one. These companies capitalise on people's desperation, a bit like magic pills for weight loss and creams that melt away cellulite. Been there, done that, there are no miricals. Wish you luck!

Hi Brendan

I reckon your first idea of using an LTBV is still your best bet. You have business management skills but no quals, and this is just what the LTBV was designed to enable.

The only way you might be able to use the Skilled Migrant route is if your estate agency quals could count. At the moment alot of agents are leaving the industry due to falling (read - plumetting) property sales, so I don't think there are many jobs to be had there.

The bureau can't guarantee anything except that they will lighten your wallet. Sorry mate, there is no easy way round it.
