SNAP!! We also posted our police check paperwork today. I had mine through in about 3-4 wks last time (Had to apply initially for nurse registration).

We submitted our EOI too....it's all go this end...lol

We have recently had a police check. The application was posted on the Monday and we received the certificate on the Saturday after!!!

Actually, they should recieve them within 10 working days for a standard request or 2 working days for an urgent request.

All UK police certificates now have to be the ACPO version which costs more but has a quicker turnaround time.

Hi Marybelle,

The US police certificate is an record check at the FBI (see this websitehttp://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm). I got my fingerprints done at the Scotland Yard using the metropolitan police fingerprint card. And Fedexed the application to the US. The US embassy didn't really help, except they told me where to get fingerprinted.

Just a update, I got our UK police certificate last friday. Only took 1 week to get them, very fast. Now just waiting on the FBI record and then the medical.
