Hi guys, Just want to have a moan to people who truly understand how stressful the situation is. Friends and family are great, but they have no idea....

Chris left last Monday to do 2/3 weeks work in OZ. He has left me in charge of the house sale (yeah right!). We accepted an offer in December and should complete some time this month but I have been told by the solicitor that there is a minor hitch further down the chain. Not what I want to hear - with 2 small kids driving me insane. a house to sell, everything to pack up, dog to sort out, flights to organise etc etc.
Chris was self employed here, has sold his vehicle and wrapped up the business - sooooo, he is not planning to return to the UK, he is just going to hang around in OZ working week to week untill I ring him to let him know the house has completed. Then he will hot foot it to NZ to find us the perfect rental house. Simple?????
All I have to do is make sure the cheese doesnt slide off my cracker in the mean time.
Good luck to everyone else who is struggling to make it over to New Zealand. Thanks for listening.[/b]

Hi Joanne

I know how you're feeling. I was left to sort everything - house sale, cat despatch and I hadn't got so far with the house sale. I put it on the market a month after Dave had left just to make sure he was happy in the job etc. Only thing I didn't have was the kids, which must be a lot harder.

Get some Brie, it'll stay on the cracker a lot more easily :laugh (never heard that expression before)

I did it all on my ownio, so I'm sure you can :nice1

Yeah - can sympathise with you Joanne.

Although hubby does occasionally come back to the UK he's away for many many weeks at a time (works in the oil industry).

We've lived 'all over' and it's always 'just so happened' that he's been away when it comes to doing all the packing and moving. We also have 2 kids .... which adds to the excitement :?

Trying to convince solicitors etc to allow him to sign any house sale contracts etc in advance is a nightmare (but essential really 'cos he could well be away for weeks on end with contracts sitting on a desk here in UK being held up 'cos they're not signed).

I agree that it can be stressful, but it can also be a blessing in diguise. At least if I'm doing everything myself I can work to my own check list, only crossing things off when they are completed - not presuming he has done them and vice versa.

Hang in there, it'll all be worth it - you'll see.

Diny

Me too, I know exactly how you feel.

We spent one month in NZ in May and hubby got a job, Myself and the kids went back to the UK to sort out remortgaging and renting the house. It took Four And A Half, very long months. On top of all that Paul fell ill, and for a while it looked like he would have to come and and forget the whole thing.

Still, you will get there in the end, just keep looking at that light at the end of the tunnel.

Good Luck

He is on his way back..HURRAY!!!!!

Chris rang, he has finished the contract in OZ and after hearing about the uncertainty over the house he has decided not to take on any more work in OZ - he is coming home. Iam soooo relieved. Hopefully the house will complete within the next two weeks, then we will be on our way to New Zealand together.
Id like to thank kiwi (niki) who has been a great help to me this week, thanks for all the advice.
Good luck to everyone.
