Hi all

We've had excellent news this week! We finally exchanged on the house after a VERY stressful 5 months! In a nutshell, we sold first time end of Sep '04, fell through. Second time, sold mid Nov '04 - sale fell through same day as they had their survey done. Third sale happened early Dec, and finally exchanged Thursday last week!

We are so over the moon. We complete in 4 weeks and fly on the 15th March. We're not going straight to NZ, but via Africa to do a safari, etc first and then we'll hit NZ late April.

I would like to wish all of you the very best of luck if you are trying to sell your houses or are in the process of arranging the sale. It's bloody stressful, but worth it in the end!

Wiggles :cheers :cheers :cheers (this will be me tonight!!!!! :laugh )

Congratulations on the 'final' sale of the house. You sound like you've had a very stressfull time.

Like you say though ..... all worth it in the end.

Your trip to NZ via Africa for a safari sounds great. Hope you have a wonderful time and that everything turns out the way you hope it will.

Keep us posted with your news. Once again .... a very genuine 'well done'.

Wiggles,
You know what they say
Third time lucky .... sounds like you have had a time.
Take the time in Africa to unwind after all the hectic preparation and stress you've had then when you get to NZ you'll be a new person.

I am really pleased for you and look forward to reading about your exploits in Africa and then NZ
Congrats!

Love lindaxx

Hi All

Thanks very much for the good wishes. Well, since we exchanged it's been incredibly hectic.

Shippers booked - coming in 10 days :uhoh
Cat microchipped (currently trying to get a poo sample :uhoh - her legs are definitely crossed! )
5 trips to the tip with more to come
Dying to get outside to pressure wash golf-clubs, etc, but can't due to weather
Finishing work on Monday
flights booked 15th March
holiday before New Zealand

Phew - better go off and carry on, or should I have a glass of wine ... mmmm

How are the rest of you doing with your house sales. It is a nightmare, isn't it. A house up the road from us sold late December. Drove past it this morning and the sold sign is now a For Sale sign. I know what they are going through.

Good luck everyone and let us know how you get on. Have you exchanged yet Dan? any interested parties NW2NZ?

Fingers crossed for you guys
Cheers

you are so lucky. we have yet to take deliv of front door and tiler wrecked underfloor heating while doing something in remaining bathroom so that still has to be re-done/ finished before we even market. dread to think.

our neighbours best friend (kiwi) supposedly wanted to buy our house but never materialised. sigh. we're not even on the market and the crap is already piling up.

Hi Wiggles,

We had an amazing weekend last week. After waiting 9 months, we received TWO offers :nice1 Have accepted one and they are selling to a FTB but, it aint done till its done! Had a cash buyer wanting to view today but said no. Just hope we're not let down now! :uhoh

Oohh NW2NZ :hopeso and lots of BIG LUCK being sent your way. I know the feeling you get in the pit of your stomache whilst you wait for developments. I really feel for you and really hope that it goes through smoothly. You could be one of the lucky few and will sail through the whole process :hopeso

Lesley - when the time comes, it may just happen for you too. Admittedly, we did put the house on the market at the end of Sep. Not a good time. If you are looking to do it spring into summer, it seems to be the best time with more buyers out there.

Let us know how it goes. It will be worth all the heartache in the end, and the one plus side is that our wine bill has gone down since we exchanged :laugh :laugh

Still no word on ours either. Seriously toying with the idea of reducing the price just to get things moving .......... totally SICK of hanging around now.

The next person I meet who says "I thought you were going" ...... I swear I'll crown them.

Good luck all.

Hi Wiggles

Yes I know how you feel, great isn't it. We completed last week after only 6 weeks since the buyers first said yes.

No what you mean about trips to the dump, we are on first name terms with the guys there !! The biggest problem for us however is getting rid of things that are too good to just dump. We reached the staged where we were happy to give away some of the stuff we are not taking and even here we have been let down by people saying they would collect, but then not turning up.

Still the last of the bits and pieces are going today and then it is just waiting for the packers on Monday.

For those guys still waiting to sell the house, I hope you all have good news very soon. The market looks to be picking up and as soon as those bulbs start to flower you will have people tripping over themselves to view.

Keep smiling and we look forward to keeping you informed of our experiences when we reach NZ.

No movement here either i'm afraid. Starting to think about going to auction, have already made a enquiry. A good friend of mine is in process also, and they have a couple coming back tomorrow having already sold their's. He has actually offered to get me there by loaning me a considerable amount, whilst leaving this place to sell..................Its tempting...........decisions,decisions :no

Hi All

Thanks again for the good wishes. Jes - see you are heading to Chch, me too! Should be there mid-May ish.

Kim & Diny - hang in there. It will happen and I am sure, as Moorf says, that once the spring kicks in, people will be starting to view once again. It is so stressful, and I really hope that you have a lot of success! Good luck and please let us know how it goes!

You could after all be lucky like Dave and have a dream sale! I really wish it for you all! Dave - that is great news re your sale. Gives others the hope that it could happen for them too!

Yes, I can see another trip to the tip is on the cards - either that or put the rubbish collectors into another mood this coming week (after 12bags of rubbish last week I think I'm on their black list!! :laugh )

Cheers
