I thought someone had mentioned this before but I've searched & not found it.
I need to insure a car for a month so the In-Laws can drive it, after they have gone it will be sold, I've been told by State that we need to take out a years insurance, pay for 2 months & cancel it but is there anywhere that does just a month & that's it?

Thank you

We faced this same situation when we were visiting in NZ for 4 months. we had to pay for a years insurance with AA. We did get the refund, but it was very annoying.

Its a stupid policy. We were even more annoyed 2 years later when we came down again and had a lend of a car but needed to licence it for 2 months and AA said they didn't really want our business as we had cancelled our last policy before it was up!!:roll

However now that we are more "established" here and have our house, and car insurance at our local ASB bank, I think they would might be more willing to give us a partial year if the situation arose. So maybe worth checking with whoever you have your insurance with now?
