That was pretty fast.I sumbitted my EOI on 21 May 2008 at 12:35 AM. Got a confirmation of selection at 21 May 08 at 2:31 PM. Thats pretty good I think.
Question: I have been reading some of the forums and think I really should decrease my points from 205 to around 140 to keep things less complicated. But now that my EOI is selected, how do I go about editing it? The immigration site does not give me any options for editing.
QUestion 2: I read somewhere that one of the documents required for Residency is Birth Certificate. I don't have mine with me and neither do I know where it is. Is there any way around it? Will immigration make do with the passport?

Not sure if you are from the UK but, if so, you can order a copy of your birth certificate online here (http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/).
Best of luck!

Hi James,
Thanx for the info but I am from India. I am sure there should be a work around for this.

Hi quslinger,
I am quite certain that you can't get away with a PR without providing a birth certificate. You will not be allowed to submit the ITA without it. We obtained a birth certificate from our country of origin (Israel) via the ministry of interior. Don't you have an equivalent ministry in India?
Good luck!

It also has to be a *full* birth certificate. When you get it, make sure it has both your parents names on it.

So, does any one know how to edit the EOI after it has been selected?

We needed to edit our EOI after it was selected as OH got a job offer but we simply emailed our case officer.
Confused though why you'd want to reduce your points? If they don't agree with the points you've claimed they'll simply take them off the total you submitted with or they will ask for proof.
Good luck with it all,
Anneliese

Ahh..thats pretty cool!! I wanted to reduce my points to make the whole process less complicated and quicker! UI understand that more verifications they conduct the long it will take..so why not reduce the no: of verifications, keep it simple and get it done faster!!
But, thanks so much for the info!!! The waiting game begins!! :-)
