does anyone know how long it takes for a visa to be issued fron when you submit all your paperwork as immigration seem a bit vague on the topic :?

work to residence visa or a work visa undecided as yet. also have hubby who will have interviews lined up for when we get threr but no firm job offer and a 4 year old ?? student visa unsure really :?
