As I am on budget :laugh you know that by now!!

My nearly 5 year olds (:wah, how come last 5 years went by so fast since his birth!!) son is starting school for first times and I try to work out how many t'shirt and trouser I can get away with?
I was thinking of buy just one school's polo shirt & sweathsirt, then break their rule by buy 1 postie's polo shirt and 2 trackpant as it is cheaper (I have seen some kids wearing plain polo shirt without logo on it). Is that enough?
I spoken one of mums who got son already in school and her son got just 1 polo shirt and 1 trackpant and wash at weekends (how he keep it clean for whole week???:exit)

Daughter just started school 3 weeks ago and I asked school about second hand uniform list....was surprised how much was on list (aparently immigrants don't normally ask, only kiwis). Managed to get 2 poloshirts and fleece that were in good conditiion for less than half full price...at the end of the day it is only school uniform and they will grow out is it so quick I didn't see the point of spending more than necessary. Got her 2 trackpants in either Warehouse or K-Mart (can't remember which off top of my head) and was quite alot cheaper than Postie + and just as good quality. Found so far having 2 sets seems to be enough....wear one/wash one etc. Only thing she got full price was the hat and some new clarkes shoes as I am not having her going to school in flip-flops.

Hi SOphia,
Have you checked with the school if there is a second hand uniform sale coming up soon ?
Needless to say that our kids get through a lot of school teeshirts per week. I got most of them second hand and some are hand me down from people I know who left the school. Our boys manage with just one pair of short for the week, I just wipe off the dirty bits (they all love soccer ..) and it works ok. No tracksuit pants, they are "too hot". (not even in winter).
Good luck, Laura

Our school has an expensive supplier too. Most people tend to buy one " good set " from them and then off to Postie Plus for more polos etc. I do find the Postie Plus polos quite thin and today bought thermal vests to wear beneath them.
Does your school have a lost property box ? Our school recently sold off / gave away a huge amount of un - named items - most of it like new. Might be worth checking out.

Sharpblade sqeesed in before me !

Shame

Have 5-6 brand new size 4-5 years white tops that were from the childrens school in the UK which we couldnt use here as ours were blue!

Thought if you needed white I could pass them on to you.

Just have pop in to my son's new school for second-hand list and receptiontist look at me blanked :uhoh and turn out had been while since last person asked for it :exit. She done ring around to find out who is responsbile for the list and found the person. This person need to sit down and going through the uniform to write a list for me...so I am waiting for email from this school with a list (hopefully). She did warn me that might be not much as it is small rural school with just 160 kids :roll. I will let you know how it goes! Thanks for tips as I never thought of second-hand list.
