Hi all,

We are going down the working holiday route at the moment - does anyone know how to obtain a work permit?? We plan on doing the work to residency once over in NZ and in employment but it is my understanding that we need a work permit first before we can work. Does the work permit differ from the working holiday visa or are they one of the same things?

Any help would be much appreciated.

You can certainly work on the WHV. There might be some restrictions but I am sure those are clearly written out on INZ website. Have you checked it out yet?

When you arrive in NZ (at the airport) you will be granted a permit to match your visa type so in your case you will be granted a work permit.

So, no they are not the same, the visa allows you to get to NZ, the permit permits you to stay.
