Has anyone checked golf clubs through on their flight to NZ?

2 Questions:

What goes on at the NZ arrival point. Are they inspecting the clubs... how long did it take...?

Do your clubs count aas one of your 2 pieces of luggage?

Gotta work this out by Tuesday. Think its going to come to either my clothes or his clubs...!

Thanks
Jen

we didn't bring them on the plane but the inspection they got from the container was very thorough. The took the clubs out and inspected them, the bag was upended and checked for mud inside and out, and they did find a tiny clump about as big as a babies fingernail in the mesh pocket where Pete keeps the Ts. They also went over his golf shoes and cleared a few specks from the bottom of them.

Veronica

Please could you tell me when the contents of your container were inspected. ie at the customs on arrival OR at your home in NZ. I will also perhaps bring my golf clubs and I want to avoid my container being delayed at entry due to any unnecessary insections.
What actions were taken on finding the dirt?

the container was delivered to the door and the maf came and inspected there. no action was taken apart from them to remove the dirt and put it in a plastic bag to be disposed of somewhere at there premises.
