I've claimed for the maximum amount of points regarding work experience and have literally given them my full work history since I left college in 1985..

Does anyone know how far back I have to provide work references for?

Cheers
Mrs Granite

I got a call yesterday from one ex-employer (University '87-'90) stating their records werent THAT old, but I gave them some Professorial names that I used to work alongside and they'd get a signature from them!

How old do I feel now? :wah

The further back, the better. Though other proof of employed should suffice as well (e.g. pay slips).
I have always made a point of receiving a letter of reference when leaving an employer (and I have had a few :o). Never gave it much thought, though I was pretty happy for it when the ITA arrived ...

I had ALL my payslips since 1985 until approx 3 years ago. I shredded them up to 2000. Doh! If only I knew then what they needed to know now!
