Noticed that some of you still got selected on 110 w/o job offer this year but when i look at the pool stats, there aren't any selections below 125. Confused:confused:

I wasn't one of them, but it is possible to have 100pts incl bonus points for experience or qual in a shortage area. These are selected above just points w/out any bonuses.

my points are not in a skill shortage area
is it still worth submitting without a job offer? I'm going round in circles and getting confused!

I have 105 points no job offer and no skill in a shortage area. Right now I am dropping my resume were I can in hopes that someone will offer me a job. That's the only way that you will be selected if you are in this position. Good luck

Wow... that's good news for those of us who may have right about the same number of points! Did you claim bonus points anywhere else on the EOI though?:)

Pongster, didn't claim bonus points anywhere, I think it was 50 for qualificatation, 20 for OH qualification, 25 for age and 25 for work experience. I may have got the amounts for each section wrong but it added up to 120.

I've recently read somewhere on this forum about people with only 100 points (no job offer) getting PR, I think it depends a bit on when you submit your EOI/ITA.
Sorry I can't remember where I read about it (try a search), but there's definately hope!

There was one post that I read where someone said that he had 105 points, no job offer and was selected in less then 7 days after his submission. I was encouraged at first, for I have the same amount of points and no job offer as he did. Then I realized that I had submitted my EOI 2 months ahead of his submission and I am still waiting. Maybe it was the timing of his submission, not sure.

Not sure whether this is correct, but i read somewhere that that NZIS have a yearly allocation they need to fill. In the first few months of the year, they pull out all the highest points apps to meet the monthly quotea, then as the year goes and they need to get their monthly amount, there are less of these applications with lots of points, so they start to take those with lower points etc. If its true, then the nearer we get to their annual cut off (whenever that is), the better chance those with fewer points have of being selected.
we got selected on 125 points and no job offer in 2006....
fingers crossed for you!
